I JUST HAD AN EPIPHANY!

So I was just reading the Forerunner talk page and someone was saying that not even John known how he knows to operate Forerunner machinery. So I was thinking, "Hmm the Rock on Sigma Octanus IV explained John's familiarity with Cortana's calculations with Halo's coordinates. But definitely not how to operate Forerunner machinery. Also, with other humans being able to operate Forerunner machinery without knowing how. Hmmmmmm, it's weird, because it's almost like it's instinctive." Then it came at me like a series of rapid hits! "Instinct. Brain. Forerunner. Programmed." Then I realized it!! GEAS. The Forerunners PROGRAMMED HUMANS WITH A GEAS TO OPERATE FORERUNNER TECHNOLOGY!!!!!!!! What do you think? You think it might be possible? I would REALLY like to hear your thoughts on this.
