Spawn killing is the act of camping out near a player's spawn area and repeatedly killing them before they can act. Spawn killing is hated by many players, and is considered a noob tactic.

Background

Spawn killers often wait either out in the open near a player's spawning area or hiding in an area before jumping out and killing the player. They also often spawn kill in vehicles due to how hard it is to destroy most of them. Spawn killers usually perform this unfair act with strong weapons such as Shotguns, Swords, Spartan Lasers, and Hammers.

Most spawn killers rely on spawn killing to win games or earn points, and this is done easily with heavy or strong weapons(mentioned above), or sticking them with grenades to eliminate the spawning player with barely any resistance, sometimes being able to time their throws so it explodes right when a player spawns. Spawn killing is considered a way of "cheating", annoying, and a very unfair tactic, as players never get the change to attack before the spawn killer kills them. Spawn killers also rely on Sniper Rifles in servers where players don't have enough life or shields strong enough to survive the shot. The spawn killer also would rely on headshotting the player for a quick kill. Players that spawn kill usually use this to look down upon other players and consider it a strategy for "skillful people" and that players need to "deal with it".

How players do it

The Spawn killer waits near where somebody would spawn in the game with a strong weapon, and would wait for them to spawn. The victim spawns, while the spawn killer tears them to ribbons. The victim is forced to spawn in that spot over and over, only to get the same result. Sometimes players push respawning explosives near spawn points and hiding from the victim. Once they spawn near the explosive, the spawn killer shoots it with a long-ranged weapon, like a Sniper Rifle, killing the player instantly. The spawn killer would sometimes wait in a vehicle, like a Chopper, for a quick splatter.
