Captain Roggan was the fifth captain of the Phoenix-class colony ship, the Spirit of Fire, succeeding Captain Johnson. Captain Johnson's service as captain ended in 2505, but the position was not filled again until 2507 by Roggan.[1] Under Captain Roggan, the Spirit of Fire aided in the UNSC's interstellar expansion efforts by transporting colonists and equipment for colonization, including pre-fabricated structures such as schools and hydroponics facilities.[2] Captain Roggan served until 2513 and his or her position was then filled by Captain Alexander. By at least 2531, Roggan's name and the period of his or her service as captain were painted onto the side of the Spirit of Fire's hull.
