They are seen in the swamps of the level ''[[343 Guilty Spark (Level)|343 Guilty Spark]]'' in ''[[Halo: Combat Evolved]]''. They, along with the [[Sea Worms]] on the ''[[Silent Cartographer (Level)|Silent Cartographer]]'', are the only known species of [[Installation 04]].  The calls of various other creatures are heard at certain points throughout the game, but they are of unknown species.  These sounds are presumably from owl-like birds and crickets.  In [[Halo: Combat Evolved]], the moths are harmless to the Covenant and humans alike.

A moth on the level 343 Guilty Spark.

"Moths" were a type of insect encountered in the swamps near the Flood containment facility on Alpha Halo. They, along with the Sea Worms in the waters off the Silent Cartographer, are the only known species indigenous to Installation 04.

Gameplay[edit]

In Halo: Combat Evolved, the moths are harmless to the Covenant and Humans alike and have no interaction with the player.

Along with the sea worms found on The Silent Cartographer moths are the only animals found in the game, although the calls of various other creatures can be heard at certain points throughout.
