Mess Halls are used in likely all UNSC vessels. They provide food and drinks for the crew and Marines. Instead of having chefs, most vessels by the 2500s' have food dispensers instead, this however results in less choices of nourishment.
The standard Halcyon-Class Cruiser has its Mess Hall located near the Bridge and Armories.
In September of 2552, the UNSC Pillar of Autumn was attacked by the Covenant near Installation 04. Marines surrounded the Mess Hall, stopping the covenant from reaching the bridge.
