Magnetic splints are a piece of Covenant medical technology. They presumably use magnetic parts to keep broken bones from moving around too much.[1]

Jiralhanae Chieftain Maccabeus had a magnetic splint affixed on his leg after he was severely injured by Staff Sergeant Avery Johnson and Staff Sergeant Nolan Byrne during the First Battle of Harvest.[1]
