Three Wolverines provide wide area AAA protection to friendly units

The Wolverine is a United Nations Space Command ground-based anti-aircraft battery in Halo Wars designed to eliminate Banshees and other airborne Covenant units such as Spirit Dropships

Because the Wolverine has only been the subject of a few seconds of gameplay footage, and little explanation, it is presumed that they are used in an Air Defense Role, intercepting Covenant air support fighters to prevent bombing runs against UNSC ground forces and emplacements.

• This vehicle is probably the UNSC counterpart of the AA Wraith.
• It bears more than merely a passing resemblance to the M1097 Avenger Air Defense System used by the US Army in the 21st Century and to the much older American M3 and German SdKfz 251 Half tracks of World War II
