M7S SMG

The M7 Caseless Suppressed Sub Machine Gun, also known as the Suppressed SMG and the Silenced SMG, is a United Nations Space Command ground firearm. It is most likely used by special operations forces such as the Spartans and the UNSC Marine ODSTs

Introduction

It is variant of the M7 Caseless Sub Machine Gun, featuring an external flash and sound suppressor on the barrel. Muzzle flash is significantly decreased, and firing the weapon gives a barely noticeable sound, increasing stealth applications for the M7 Caseless Suppressed Submachine Gun. The silencer decreases accuracy of the already inaccurat SMG by slowing down it's bullets and decreaseing their rate of spin. (The faster the rate of spin the more accurate the bullet, like when a top falles over when it slows down) The power of the bullets is decreased because of the slowing of projectile velocity from the suppressor. The SSMG would have decreased recoil from the supresser. Due to the inacuarcy of silencened wepons, such as the SSMG they are often fitted with laser sites the can drasticy increase their accuracy.

Background

This weapon was first seen in Halo 2 Vista's Example map. The M7 Suppressed SMG can also be found on the Arsenal picture in the Halo Graphic Novel, and noted in Halo: First Strike, where John-117 used two M7 SSMG's during Operation: FIRST STRIKE.

Trivia

• It could be possible that the M7 Suppressed SMG could be a weapon featured in the upcoming Halo 3. Though this is not certain.
