Inner Colonies

The Inner Colonies are certain specific Human controlled planets that were terraformed to support life. These planets were colonized because of how close they were to Earth. They are the political, economic, and military centers of UNSC Controlled space.

The Inner Colonies were the first planets that were colonized outside of the solar system to ease Earth's over population. A colony ship transport program was started using the Slipspace technology to reach these planets.

Numerous ships were pulled from their positions in the Outer Colonies to defend the Inner Colonies. Old ships, such as the Halcyon-class Cruiser Pillar of Autumn, were refitted and brought back into service to supplement the remaining forces.

Reach

Located in the Epsilon Eridani system, Reach is one of the most important inner planets. During the Human-Covenant War it was the last planet to fall before Earth. Reach is also home to the SPARTAN-II program's training center. Please see the article on Reach for more information.
