The Halo 2 Beta was a closed beta test of Halo 2 only available to Bungie and Microsoft employees along with selected external testers during July of 2004.[1]
Files
The beta contained content that wasn't referenced in any of the map files that was only accessible after modding the game. This content included the mongoose (later implemented into Halo 3), a human flamethrower (originally intended for Halo: Combat Evolved, later implemented in Halo 3), the Disrupter (a Covenant flamethrower style weapon) and much more.
