A Fracture, also known as Fractures, is a piece of Halo fiction considered part of a different "branch" of Halo lore to the normal Halo universe.[1] They are divergent universes or timelines that still share a variety of elements in common with core canon.[2]

Branches

Tenrai

The Tenrai Fracture is inspired by samurai and Japanese culture. In this universe, the 343 clans of the Imperial Court once feuded with each other for generations, but united in the face of an invasion by the Covenant. To defeat the invaders, the clans pooled their knowledge and crafted a new type of armor for their samurai warriors: Yoroi.[2]

Belos

The Belos Fracture is inspired by Greek and Roman culture. In this universe, the Chosen are humans who have been chosen to undergo augmentations these augmentations made the Chosen become almost demigods among humans, Chosen make up commanders and bodyguards within the Belos Fracture. The armor used by the Chosen is the Belos.

Blackguard

Production notes

Fracture are used as events in Halo Infinite and Halo: The Master Chief Collection to explain the existence of certain armor models, such as Yoroi and specific Season 8: Mythic items, in their relevant games.[1][3]
