Energy projector

The Energy Projector is a Covenant starship-mounted weapon. It is believed to be the most devastating weapon in the Covenant arsenal, with an effective range of 100,000 kilometers - beyond the range of any UNSC weapon, including the Super Orbital Magnetic Accelerator Cannon. It fires a lance-thin, fluctuating beam of energy that spears through enemy warships at long range. However, before it fires, it typically emits a spike of radiation, allowing informed enemies to know when the projector is firing.

It can take down the shields of a Covenant frigate or a Covenant Heavy Destroyer with a single hit. However, it can effectively neutralize a UNSC frigate or UNSC destroyer's threat to friendly forces by surgically impacting critical systems like their MAC system, destroying them and making them effectively useless in combat.

According to Fred, only the "big ships have them". Covenant warships armed with this devastating weapon are the Reverence-class Cruiser, Covenant Battleship, Covenant Supercruiser and the Covenant Supercarrier - all two kilometers or longer.
