Codename: COALMINER is an ONI operative.
In 2552, COALMINER was involved in the classified project Operation: HYPODERMIC. COALMINER detected an intrusion, but not the identity of the intruder, which the intruder went in the ONI database which threatened to compromise HYPODERMIC. COALMINER then informed Codename: SURGEON of the security breach. To minimize the damage COALMINER deleted the UNSC Circumference from the database of Reach Station Gamma.[1]
COALMINER is also mentioned in Ghosts of Oynx and could be a ONI opertive ssigned to Oynx and then reassigned to Reach in time for the First Battle of Reach.
