"Bornstellar is marked to become to become a great Builder, just like his father — but this Manipular has other plans."
Halo: Cryptum

Bornstellar Makes Eternal Lasting (commonly known as "Bornstellar") was a Forerunner Manipular (teenager) who worked as a miner on an experimental planet which would later be known as "Earth".[1] His family and ancestors came from a long line of Builders, the highest and most powerful social class in Forerunner society.

Physical description and personality

Presumably like all Manipulars, Bornstellar was young and inexperienced and was close to the age of becoming an independent member of society. However, despite his noble class, he was quite rebellious in nature, even to the point of defying the history and trade of his family as builders.[1] Because of this, Bornstellar had become increasingly interested in the Precursors, an ancient race of sentient beings far predating his own people.

Trivia

  • Bornstellar is the main protagonist of the upcoming Greg Bear novel Halo: Cryptum, the first of three novels in The Forerunner Saga.
  • In the description located on the jacket of the novel, it's hinted that Bornstellar meets Didact, the future or current Supreme Commander of the Forerunner Fleet.[1]
  • Bornstellar's given name appears to be representative of his intended destiny of becoming a Builder. As an engineer of megastructures, he would causes eternally lasting stellar structures to be born. It is possible that all Forerunner names follow this trend.
