Floodgate[1] is the title of the sixth campaign mission of Halo 3.

It takes place in Voi, Africa, as does the preceding mission, The Storm. The player fights the Flood at Voi. When the level's real name, "Floodgate," was revealed, this only became more likely. Presumably, as this level's Meta-game achievement is entitled "Exterminator", the purpose of the level is to exterminate the Flood from Voi.
It has been speculated that "Two Betrayals is to AotCR as Floodgate is to The Storm"--the two maps may feature the same basic terrain, but in Floodgate, it will have been infested by the Flood. However, this may not be the case, asBungie have been heavily criticized in the past for the perceived "laziness" of parallel level design.
Upon completing it on the Normal, Heroic, or Legendary difficulties, the player will earn the "Cleansing" achievement and 30 Gamerpoints.
