Quinn Butain was a member of the Sundered Legion, an insurgent organization on Meridian.[1]
Biography[edit]
During the Insurrection, the Sundered Legion was able to procure a Prowler.[2] Butain was one of the Legion's members assigned to pilot it.[1]
Decades after the Sundered Legion's defeat by the UNSC, the Prowler was discovered by Saskia Nazari and Victor Gallardo.[3] When Dorian Nguyen attempted to activate the ship, it read his DNA and identified Dorian as Quinn Butain who Dorian suspected to be his great-grandfather. Spartan-III Owen-B096 suggested that Dorian, as a descendant of Quinn, had a close enough DNA match to fool the Prowler's systems. As a result, Dorian was capable of flying the ship and overriding the self-destruct which was activated when the Prowler detected Owen.[1]
