Description

The HAVOK Thermonuclear Warhead is one of the most powerful ordnance in the UNSC arsenal, mainly used in missiles fired by UNSC Bombers or Cruisers. However, alternate use is to simply place the warhead on a ground target and detonate it with a remote. Its yield is thirty megatons standard, though is available in yields from 20 to 90 megatons. Its power can damage or completely drain small Covenant capital ships' shields, depending on the warhead's yield.

Around July of 2552, during the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV, Blue Team detonated a HAVOK nuclear warhead at the city of Cote D'Azur, during the battle taking place on the planet, destroying the city and all the Covenant in it.[1]

Trivia

  • Each HAVOK weighs about 5-6 tons.
  • Not likely named after the physics engine Bungie uses, HAVOK. Halo: The Fall of Reach was published in 2003, whereas the HAVOK Physics Engine was not implemented into the series until Halo 2, which was released a year later.
