| The '''MA2B Assault Rifle''' is a stripped down version of the MA5B [[Assault Rifle]]. Using the same core components as an MA5B but with as little extra equipment as possible. This weapon was referred to as an MA2B rifle. The [[Spartans]] used these weapons periodically in the books when they wanted to have very little ordinance for a mission. They used these rifles first when capturing [[Colonel Robert Watts]] of the [[Eridanus Rebels]].<ref>[[Halo: The Fall of Reach]], page 80</ref> It would be assumed that this weapon has the same rate of fire as the MA5B Assault Rifle.
