According to a letter of apology from Cdr. Michael Sullivan to Adm. Serin Osman, Ms. Boren misspoke the date on which the Master Chief was officially declared KIA as being October 27, 2560, when in fact it was supposed to be October 27, 2558. The letter explained the reasons why she specifically had been chosen to deliver the announcement instead of a more senior member of Sullivan's staff, and went on to state that Ms. Boren had been immediately reassigned to the Industries Discourse Management department on the mining colony of BXR-730, where her work "will not be public facing and will be entirely reviewed on a weekly basis" by a member of Sullivan's staff.[2]
