The destruction of Athens

Athens Station was an orbital defense platform in geosync orbit over the city of Athens on Earth [1]. It was in the same battle cluster with Cairo Station and Malta Station. It was the second Station to be destroyed by a Covenant Anti-Matter Bomb during the First Battle of Earth in 2552.

Athens Station was one of Earth's Orbital Defense Platforms and was so named because it held station above the city of Athens[2]. It was in the same battle cluster as Cairo Station and Malta Station.

During the First Battle of Earth, Athens was destroyed after Malta and in the same fashion: Covenant boarders placed an Anti-Matter Bomb then withdrew prior to detonation.

After Athens was destroyed, the Prophet of Regret's assault carrier to broke through the orbital defenses to the surface.
