Abrams and Troop Bay Size

Well quite frankly, Mr. Mclees has likely never seen an M1 Abrams. I know from personal experience that an M1 Abrams has the width of about one and a half Pelican troop bays. Therefore, his statement about the size of the troop bay is invalid. Hell, you can just barely fit a M12 Warthog into the troop bay. And yeah, I know about the 25 Spartans, but quite frankly...a 60 ton tank is different than a bunch of soldiers. Yeah, they are big and everything, but if you pack them in enough, it works.

And as for his status as the Halo Story Bible keeper...if you have noticed within the game and novels, there are many military-related issues that have been found. Such as uniforms, ranks, etc. Robt Mclees might be the guardian of the bible...but he's not a walking encyclopedia of military knowledge. That's where myself and a few others on here come in and correct their mistakes.

And if you're still not convinced...this is the smallest aircraft that can transport the Abrams: [1], and there is only about a foot of clearance between the bulkheads of the C-17 and the Abrams. Without the tank, this is what it looks like: [2]. Now...there is no way you can compare the troop bay of the Pelican that can barely hold a Warthog, with the cargo bay of a Globemaster...that can barely contain an Abrams.

Please provide a reference to the width, as there is no information regarding the width of the troop bay of the pelican to validate your claim. However there is a problem with what you've pointed out, the Abrams M1A1 MBT has a width of 3 Meters (12 feet). The width of the Pelican is 23 meters (76 feet). The width of the cargo bay of the C17 is 5 meters (18 feet) how is there only a foot of clearance if you have a cargo bay that is 18 feet in width and a tank that is only 12 feet in width? You really think that's 76 feet of the width of the troop bay? That's referring to the wingspan of the aircraft, from wing tip to wing tip. Now do you really think this is 76 feet? As for the Globemaster, I was just generalizing with the width of the cargo bay, though it's obvious that the Abrams takes up most of the bay, regardless of the width of both the tank and the aircraft. And even when discussing the width, you've also got to take into account the 120mm cannon that is equipped on the Abrams, as well as the turret it rests on, which takes up a large amount of space as it is. Now, the Scorpion, which is only 9.5 feet in width, cannot even fit inside the rear of the Pelican, and that's three feet smaller than the Abrams. All i'm trying to say is that the comment in itself was an exaggeration likely, and it's impractical as well. Hell, he might of meant the part underneath the aft of the Pelican where they carry the Warthog and the Scorpion as the "troop bay". Oh and by the way, would you respond on the user's talk page to whom your conversing with so that they will get the message and not wonder if they messaged back or not? Thanks! Thanks man! But believe me man...I want to fit an Abrams into a Pelican. Why you ask? Because I rather have a 120mm cannon than a 90mm one (evil laugh). File:United Nations logo.png|35 Tony, Administrator of HalopediaTalk 12/19/2008
Well thank you very much! I knew the Abrams could eventually be placed into the troop bay, if in fact that the designers modified it for it's us. File:United Nations logo.png|35 Tony, Administrator of HalopediaTalk 12/20/2008

Plasma

Plasma isn't a gas, it's the fourth state of matter.

The Covenant have the ability to use Plasma as a guiding weapon. When the Super-heated Plasma hits something, it burns away some of it and is probably absorbed into it... It's hard to describe... Try overloading a Plasma pistol and see how it hits it's target.

I mean...the UNSC wouldn't need those point-defence guns if they weren't of any use.-- Forerunner 20:26, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
