A '''Task Force''' is an organization of [[Covenant]] ships, usually organized on a temporary basis and for a specific mission. A Task Force is smaller than a [[Fleet]]. It is the rough equivalent of a [[UNSC]] [[Battle Group]] in terms of the number of ships. It is commanded by a [[Zealot]] [[Elite]] with the title of [[Fleet Master]].

Task forces usually contain anywhere from a handful of ships to several dozen. Task forces are not named as Covenant fleets are, and there has been no indication if their temporary nature renders them any naming merit at all.

A Covenant task force was sent to [[Harvest]] in [[2531]]. It numbered less than a dozen vessels.

Another Covenant task force, referred to as [[Regret's Fleet]], was sent to [[Earth]], led by the [[Prophet of Regret]].
