The Portable Gravity Lift is a piece of Covenant deployable field equipment.
Operation
The Portable Gravity Lift must be picked up. Afterwards, it may be deployed by pressing the "X" button. Once deployed, the Portable Gravity Lift unfolds and projects a bluish-purple gravity beam that a player can jump on and be propelled up - exactly the same as the Covenant's larger version, the unmodified Gravity Lift, but on a smaller scale. When placed near a wall, a player can use it to jump over it. It can also lift vehicles up for tricks or over obstacles.
It is activated by the X-Button now dubbed the "Equipment Button", by Frankie.
Appearances
The Portable Grav Lift was seen in the H3 ViDoc while a group of players were attacking High Ground. To the untrained eye one would suppose that a player just grenade jumped, but there was a pad on the floor that was radiating a blue light similar to the Man Cannon. Is is another equipment similar to the Bubble Shield, the Power Drainer, and the Trip Mine.
The Portable Gravity Lift was confirmed, however, on Bungie.net.
Spawns
This Equipment spawns only on High Ground in the Halo 3 Beta. It also spawns in the Halo 3 Internal Beta's Last Resort. This is not finalized for Halo 3.
