The Stealth Elite is a Covenant Sangheili rank.

The Stealth Elite

The Stealth Elite is the equivilant of the UNSC Spies and information gatherers. The Stealth Elite's mission is not normally to differenant from the Ossoona's mission. They are as smart as a Major Elite and seldom make mistakes in combat. They work in pairs or in groups of up to four. On Heroic and Legendary in Halo 2, these Elites are seen in the level Outskirts in "Sniper Alley". This area is where they will jump down from a roof and engage the Master Chief and the Marines following him, normally killing the Marines and suprising the player.

Combat

Only found wielding Plasma Rifles and Energy Swords, these Elites have no sheilds in Halo: Combat Evolved, but have shields in Halo 2 that are as strong as a Minor Elite's. They fire in sustained bursts and move while shooting. They are also far less prone to tactical mistakes, such as not charging directly into a fight and taking cover more often.

In Easy and Normal modes, these Elites are only in places where they always spawn, but in Heroic and Legendary, they spawn far more often.

Armor and Armament

Halo: Combat Evolved

These elites are clad in dull gray body armor, but are unshielded - they are not equipped with Elite Personal Energy Shields. However, their defensive capabilities are augumented by permanent Active Camo technology.

Halo 2

These Elites are clad in etheir a silvery color or a brown color. Unlike their precursers, they have sheilds, which are only strong as a Minor Elite's. But those shields make a difference.

In both games, Stealth Elites are normally armed with Plasma Rifles. They are seen in Halo 2 dual weilding them. Some Stealth Elites also carry Energy Swords, which they activate after sneaking up on an enemy.

Appearances

Halo: Combat Evolved

Stealth Elites were far more common in Halo: Combat Evolved, compared to its successor. On Installation 04, Stealth Elites were present in many places, especially near the Silent Cartographer.

Halo 2

Stealth Elites were responsible for the death of Master Sergeant Gunns on Cairo Station, Armory A-01. Like mentioned earlier, they can be found in the level Outskirts in the Sniper Alley and some were present on patrol of High Charity.

Disambiguation

They are sometimes mistaken as Special Operations Elites, who have armor equipped with technology to temporarily sustain Active Camoflauge (like the Arbiter), but are shielded.
