==History==
After being [[marooning|marooned]] [[Netherop]] in [[2526]], the only thing that kept [[Blademaster]] [[Meduz 'Ra'ashai]] from leading a mutiny against [[Nizat 'Kvarosee]] was Nizat's control of the [[Divine Hand]].{{Ref/Novel|Id=OC12|Out|Chapter=12}} According to 'Ra'ashai, the [[Defenders of the Sanctum]] lived in a tenuous balance between following Nizat and outright mutiny, though he felt that the other warriors lacked the courage to try and rebel, instead preferring to do what they knew and follow the [[Worldmaster]].{{Ref/Novel|Out|Chapter=18}}

In [[2552]], during the [[Battle of Sigma Octanus IV]] aboard the {{UNSCShip|Iroquois}}, Lieutenant [[Jaggers]] demonstrated gross incompetence and insubordination; amid the stress of the battle, Jaggers nearly attempted mutiny. While at his post during the battle, he pleaded with [[Hikowa|Lieutenant Hikowa]] and turned away from his station.{{Ref/Novel|FoR|Page=149}} At several points during the battle, his inability to follow orders without question nearly led to the death of his entire crew. After the battle, Commander Keyes successfully requested that [[Vice Admiral]] [[Michael Stanforth]] reassign Jaggers to another vessel, or, as Keyes preferred, a remote outpost, where he could do no harm while helping the UNSC at the same time.{{Ref/Novel|FoR|Page=161}}

In [[2555]], the {{UNSCShip|Lamplighter}} was one of the ships of the [[UNSC Home Fleet]] stationed at [[Earth]], and was one of the vessels involved in the planet's defense during an [[Battle of Earth (2555)|attempted invasion]] by a massive [[Sentinel]] fleet commanded by [[000 Tragic Solitude]], the [[monitor]] of the [[Ark]]. As [[Retriever Sentinel]]s poured out of the [[Excession]] portal and began to attack other nearby ships, ''Lamplighter''{{'}}s [[commanding officer]] remained frozen and refused to act. As such, the ship's [[executive officer]] (XO), [[Pedro Alvarez]], mutinied and took control of the ship.{{Ref/Novel|Id=Atropos|Halo: Ascension on Atropos}}

On [[2556#October|October 9, 2556]], Alvarez's actions in the wake of the [[Outbreak at Site 22]] led many of the crew of the {{UNSCShip|Saturn}} to mutiny against him. The mutineers attempted to remove Alvarez from command with the goal of taking him to [[Earth]] for court-martialing. In response, Alvarez opened the hanger's exterior airlock, sucking the assembled crew into space. In the days following, the remaining crew would turn on Alvarez, whispering their own plans and making their own factions. Alvarez slowly had the remaining dissenters killed until he was the only one left on the ship.{{Ref/Reuse|Atropos}}

On [[2558#September|September 17, 2558]], after being released by [[Ayit 'Sevi]],{{Ref/Comic|Id=HE2|HE|Issue=22}} [[Sali 'Nyon]] led a mutiny aboard the ''[[Breath of Annihilation]]'', killing those loyal to [[Jul 'Mdama]] and seizing control of 'Mdama's collection of Forerunner artifacts taken from Requiem, using them to further cement [[Sali 'Nyon's Covenant|his support]].{{Ref/Comic|Id=HE23|HE|Issue=23}}

In October [[2558]], members of the {{UNSCShip|Nereid}}'s crew mutinied under the leadership of Major [[Kell Tanris]] before she and Lieutenant Commander [[Elaine Coffey]] reached a peaceful solution.{{Ref/Comic|TFS|Undefeated}}

At some point prior to May 28, 2560, [[Escharum]] learned that some of the [[Banished]] troops stationed at the [[Armory of Reckoning (location)|Armory of Reckoning]] believed themselves deserving of greater status, renown, and adulation. He subsequently warned Bannix to get the Armory's troops under control or else he would replace Bannix.{{Ref/Game|Id=A Warning|HI|HINF:Audio log#Outpost Intel 4|Banished Audio Log|Detail=Outpost Intel #2 - A Warning}} Around the same time, at least six Jiralhanae at the Armory attempted to mutiny, in part due to a shortage of meat. Bannix and the other [[Jiralhanae Chieftain|Chieftains]] swiftly crushed the mutineers.
