==Operational history==
The Banished have appropriated Lich transports and repurposed them to function as carriers for the central command structures of their raider bases. They are capable of transporting full [[Banished outpost]] structures into the battlefield.{{Ref/Game|Id=PL|HW2|Detail=''[[Phoenix Logs]] - Lich''}} They are also capable of carrying massive troop payloads and vehicles, and are capable of utilizing their massive plasma cannon to deal heavy damage to enemy forces.<ref name="ATN">''[[Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare]]''</ref> Banished Liches were manufactured by [[Eklon War-Forges]] and developed by the Eklon'dal workshop.<ref>''[[Halo Encyclopedia (2022 edition)]]''</ref>

These Liches saw heavy use by the Banished during their [[Second Ark Conflict|campaign]] on [[Installation 00|the Ark]] against the forces of the {{UNSCShip|Spirit of Fire}} in [[2559]].{{Ref/Game|HW2}} During the conflict, they were employed by [[Pavium]] and [[Voridus]] following the release of the parasitic [[Flood]] from the ruins of [[High Charity]]. Following the destruction of the [[Proto-Gravemind]], a Lich was used by [[Atriox]] to transport personally to the site of the infection and begin cleanup operations.{{Ref/Reuse|ATN}}

After a Banished force on [[Reach]] was able to open a [[slipspace portal]] to the Ark, Atriox and some of his forces flew through it in a Banished Lich. Additionally, at the centre of the Lich's circling area will spawn a portal allowing the player to produce infantry and vehicle units.
