Bandersnatch is a United Nations Space Command emergency code to be declared following a radiological- or energy-based disaster.

Usage
Bandersnatch was a UNSC emergency code. Used right after combat operations or disasters have taken place, the code represents a radiological- or energy-based disaster.
The emergency code has been used in the following cases:

*In 2492, Bandersnatch was declared following the nuclear bombing by UNSC forces to destroy the rebellion on Far Isle.
This code has been used many times, most often when a UNSC colony world has been glassed by Covenant forces. It was also used during the destruction of the Far Isle colony due to massive rebellion, and during the First Battle of Earth, after a Covenant Assault Carrier entered Slipspace in Earth's lower orbit and destroyed the city of New Mombasa.fact
*During the Human-Covenant War, the code was used when a human colony was being glassed by Covenant naval forces.
*On November 3, 2552; Cortana declared Bandersnatch, in addition to code Hydra, due to the attempted activation of Installation 05, and the Flood infection which had consumed significant portions of the ring and the Covenant holy city, High Charity.
