The state of Zolam is situated in the southern regions of the continent Qivro. Within the city-state laid the Temple of the Sundered Sky, one of many Forerunner structures still standing in Zolam. D'ero 'S'bud hailed from the outskirts of this state where he hunted doarmir and maegophet in his youth.
At the conclusion of the Human-Covenant War in 2553, the Sangheili began to return to Sanghelios. At this same time the lost colony of Ussa 'Xellus was rediscovered and some Ussans sought to return to their people's homeworld. Xelq 'Tylk and C'tenz, two Ussan Sangheili, accompanied D'ero 'S'bud and G'torik 'Klemmee to the northern mountains of Zolam where they viewed the state's landscape from a cliff-side cupola. D'ero told Xelq that they would visit Zolam at a safer time as tensions of war were still present in the state.[2]
