William Corey Dietz

William Corey Dietz (born 1945) is a U.S. science fiction author who has written up to 28 novels in the genre. Among Dietz's works is also the novel adaptation of the highly rated computer and video game Halo: Combat Evolved. The book was titled Halo: The Flood, and released in 2003. Prior to Halo: The Flood, Dietz also wrote three Star Wars novels that followed the exploits of Kyle Katarn.

Dietz grew up in the Seattle area, spent time with the Navy and Marine Corps as a medic, graduated from the University of Washington, lived in Africa for half a year, and has traveled to six continents. Dietz has been employed as a surgical technician, college instructor, news writer, and television producer, and currently serves as "Director of Public Relations and Marketing" for an international telephone company. He and his wife live near Seattle, and they enjoy traveling, boating, snorkeling, and not too surprisingly, reading books.
