:Maybe they're not bad soldiers, but they could be so much better. In ''The Flood'', they try to ambush the UNSC Marines as they leave from their raid on the ''Pillar of Autumn''. They get that the best tactic is to funnel the Marines through a narrow mountain pass, but their honour code means that they keep their troops in full view and send their Banshees charging into the Warthog's anti-aircraft guns. Furthermore, they keep their Wraiths perched in full sight on a hilltop, and they're later destroyed by a pair of Scorpions. A much better plan would have been to thoroughly fill the pass with anti-tank mines, but even we in the real world view the use of minefields as somewhat cowardly and disproportionate. They also remove the need for a soldier to see his enemy to kill him, so it's a big no-no for the Sangheili. They could also have pre-sighted the pass for fire from the Wraiths and kept them out of sight on the reverse slope, since the Wraith's [[plasma mortar]] is an indirect fire weapon that can send shells arcing over obstacles, but like the mines, this removes the need for a soldier to see his enemy, so the Sangheili ain't gonna do it. Removing Categories
If you don't mind me asking, why are you removing the UNSC Category from pages such as UNSC Calcutta? I can see with some of the edits, where you change the category, but wouldn't it be better to add the new categories, seeing as they fall into both? --DKong Talk Cont 13:39, 12 December 2010 (EST)
- Because it's counter productive in terms of organisation; half of the articles are either Covenant or UNSC origin, so why add such useless category?- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 13:45, 12 December 2010 (EST)

Elite Strategy
I dunno, I suppose I can understand why you'd say elites are "poor tacticians", as there code of honour gets in the way of thinking outside the box but id say their good strategists, i dunno about "poor soldiers" as they do seem to be better trained than the marines, army troopers and slightly more so than the odsts in the way that they are more mobile, alot quicker, seem to be better shots etc. Also you gotta take into account alpha base, even though that was a disaster you gotta admire the elites ingenuity at the start:
Alpha Base Attack Strategy
Trick the UNSC marines into thinking they are another pelican when in reality they are an armed force sent in to raid Alpha Base and kill John117.
Other strategies the Elites use well tho.
Drone-Usage Strategy:
Use them as a diversion so that the covenant allies can attack on the ground.
Two-Way Attack Strategy
Sometimes the Elites dont even realise there doing this but basically, on Delta Halo 4 ODSTs have to fight some Covenant forces and whilst they manage to dispatch the grunts with ease, they then find themselves having to take cover behind a rock and end up being sandwiched between Elite/Jackal infantry forces on one end and Jackal snipers on another meaning whatever the ODSTs do, there trapped unless the Master Chief helps - but thats another story.
Basically many Elite strategies involve one team distracting the enemy whilst another goes in for the kill, but im sure they have other methods one just has to look arder for em.
