A Forerunner Preceptor

A Preceptor was a Forerunner who had refined and specialized their body and mind to become a living paragon of scientific, artistic, or martial skill.[1]

Preceptors were categorized as tier-two Peacemakers, powerful constructs used to enforce the Forerunners' vision of the Mantle of Responsibility on the galaxy. Along with Guardian Custodes, Preceptors were charged with monitoring and fencing off the activity of lesser species within pocket empires.[2]
