- His name is a reference to Martin O'Donnell, the Audio Director at Bungie, whose sound studio is called "Ivory Towers."
- It is said that Lance O'Donnell's ghost haunts the Ivory Tower level because of the strange noises by the metal door. However, some say it is not Lance but its Martin O'Donnell behind the metal door because of the Siege of Madrigal playing at Ivory Tower.
