Laik was Chol Von's recent hatchling. He lived in Myur City on T'vao along with his older brothers, Gon, Kij and Hiiq.
In April, Chol was attempting to teach him delayed gratification, hoping that he would learn patience so that he would grow up to become a tactical shipmaster. His grandmother Ais believed Chol was wasting her time and should instead toughen him up. When Laik began squawking for food, Chol told him he'd be fed after he fetched his older brothers.
