Jake Chapman

First Lieutenant Jake Chapman was a UNSC Marine Officer stationed on the planet Reach in 2552.

Biography

Chapman was sharing command of Charlie Company with First Lieutenant Buckman during the Fall of Reach. He is mentioned when Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb tells Senior Chief Petty Officer Frederic-104 to put "Lieutenant Jake Chapman" on the line with him.

Lieutenant Buckman, also known as Gamma 5, was ordered to send the majority of his force in an attempt to flank the enemy. Under attack, he called for air support. By the time Frederic-104 and Red Team arrived, the forest they passed through had been levelled by UNSC bombers, and he assumed Buckman had been killed. In fact, Chapman and most of his men survived, and fell back to Facility Alpha 331 to join Gamma 5, another part of Charlie Company defending the site. En route, Recon 43 attracted the attention of two Covenant armored divisions that began to attack the facility. The arrival of SPARTAN-II team Beta Red held off the enemy long enough for Buckman to get his surviving men evacuated.
