In 2552, he was assigned to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn and Pelican Echo 419 under Flight Captain Carol "Foehammer" Rawley.[1] A crew chief's duties entail maintaining the spacecraft, ensuring it is space worthy and capable of making all the sorties with which it has been tasked.
When the Autumn arrived at Installation 04 and was shot down, Cullen went with Foehammer and Lieutenant Frye to the Pelican and launched it as the ship was going down, effectively saving it from destruction. Cullen likely flew with Foehammer on all the missions during The Battle of Installation 04 and was killed when the dropship was shot down by Banshees while Foehammer attempted to extract from the due-to-detonate Pillar of Autumn.[2]
