It is very possible that the vessel encountered by Admiral Cole's fleet at Harvest (as depicted in Halo Wars: Genesis and Halo: Evolutions) belonged to this class. This is because both vessels are described as having five bulbous sections, being two kilometers in length and multiple energy projectors.

Template:Ship Class Infobox The battleship is a heavy capital warship classification used by the Covenant.[1]

Overview

The battleship is exceptional among Covenant vessels in that it possess twelve energy projectors, making it one of the best-armed ships within the Covenant fleet. This massive firepower allows the battleship to engage enemy vessels from extreme range and makes it ideal for defending key locations and vessels.[1] The battleship is two kilometers long (equivalent to the RCS-class armored cruiser) and its hull bears five of the bulbous sections characteristic of Covenant vessels.[2]

Service history

Several battleships served in the Fleet of Particular Justice during the Fall of Reach on August 30, 2552.[3] Weeks later several battleships were among the vessels comprising the Prophet of Truth's secret fleet gathered at Unyielding Hierophant. Though these vessels were intended to attacked Earth without the knowledge or consent of the other Hierarchs, a team of SPARTAN-IIs sabotaged the platform before the invasion could commence; the battleships, as well as hundreds of other warships, were destroyed along with the station.[2]

Trivia

Both editions of the Halo Encyclopedia mistakenly refer to the battleship as 200 meters long. This would make the vessel two-thirds the size of the CRS-class light cruiser, the Covenant's smallest known warship.[1]
