Artificial intelligence suppressors, commonly referred to as suppressors, were pieces of Forerunner technology designed to deactivate ancillas. The suppressors were able to debrief and transfer all of the targeted ancilla's collected information instantly.[1] The suppressors could also be used to subsume a personal armor's ancilla as well as to physically restrain an individual, prevent their armor from healing them,[2] or force the wearer into unconsciousness.[3] On Installation 07, Mendicant Bias used similar technology to take control of Forerunners' armor and use the suits to physically crush their wearers.[4]

The archeon-class ancilla Intrepid Eye considered the ONI-developed scramble grenade a "primitive AI suppressor".[5]
