Template:Infobox Military Unit The 53rd Armored Division was an armored division of the UNSC Army active during the Human-Covenant War[1]. Its most notable action was during the Battle of Actium in 2545, where the division assaulted three large Covenant assembly areas; unfortunately, all of the soldiers in the 53th Armored were killed during a nuclear strike destroying the enemy force.

While in the month of hard fighting, the division suffered 100% losses on Actium. However prior to it's annihilation, a speech given by Colonel Ocono Mentieth, a brigade commander, was given in front of the 12,000 soldiers of the 53rd Armored to boost their morale in their perilous situation. This same speech would become legendary throughout the colonies as a symbol of human resistance against the genocidal Covenant Empire.
