Charum Hakkor is a planet in an unidentified system that once served as the capital of the Human-San 'Shyuum alliance.[1] It shares its system with Faun Hakkor, Ben Nauk, and twelve other planets.[2] It once featured a wealth of Precursor architecture and structures.[3] The planet was home to the Primordial, a creature of great power that had been imprisoned on the planet. Unbeknownst to most in the galaxy, the creature was, (or claimed to be), the last surviving Precursor,[4] as well as a Flood Gravemind.[5]

Charum Hakkor was the site of the concluding battle of the Human-Forerunner War. Prior to the war, the Didact and the Librarian met there when humanity and the Forerunners were at peace.[1] Circa 100,000 BCE, Charum Hakkor's biosphere was devastated, and its Precursor structures were annihilated, by the test-firing of Halo Installation 07;[6] this firing, ordered by Master Builder Faber, was the first time any of the Halos had been fired.
