The UNSC subnet is a subdivision of a UNSC communications network, possibly the Extra Planetary Wide Web or Waypoint. Dr. Catherine Halsey often checked the subnet for lists of people killed in action in the war against the Covenant, looking for names of her friends from her youth, though she noted she was afraid to admit this to herself.[1]
