The Energy Disruptor is a UNSC device that disables Covenant plasma weapons and energy shields. It has been seen in use by Headhunter teams. It functions almost identically to the Covenant Power Drain and was most likely reverse-engineered by ONI, using the same technology. The technology is in a prototype stage and were tested in the field by the Spartan-III Headhunter team. | The Energy Disruptor is a UNSC device that disables Covenant plasma weapons and energy shields. If the Energy Disruptor was reverse-engineered from the Power Drain, it has most probably been heavily improved, as is the case with most of ONI's reverse-engineered Covenant technology. An example of this is the Covenant's energy shield technology, which was improved by Project MJOLNIR. Given the fact that it can disable plasma weapons, (a feature not utilized by the Energy Drain) this is most likely the case. | |||
