Believe it or not, this is more a sign of 343 listening to the fans than doing whatever they want. Every time there were threads on the forums talking about armour designs people wanted to see, one of the most common ones was one based on American football attire. That's basically what the new stuff boils down to. People wanted a blank, flat Forge space, and trees, they gave us Forge Island. people wanted the Pit, they're giving us Pitfall. People wanted ODST and Mark V back, they're doing it. People have been asking for armour based on that Forerunner warrior concept art since it was released and they're doing that to. Halo 4 had a lot of issues, no one is going to argue that, not even 343.
