They were the physicians and medics who made sure that soldiers in the UNSC received medical attention so they could be returned to duty. They also made policies on which drugs were legal and which were not.

In Ghosts of Onyx, they are cited by Deep Winter as the body which made brain mutagens illegal.
The UNSC Medical Corps administers medical treatments, drugs, and other procedures authorized by the [[United Nations Space Command]]. They have also established policies on which drugs are legal and which are not. They were directly responsible for making the brain mutagens administered to the [[SPARTAN-III Gamma Company|Gamma Company]] of [[Spartan-III]]s illegal in the UNSC in [[2513]].{{Ref/Reuse|goo}}
