:I did consider the same thing, but in ''Primordium'', it's noted that Marontik was located deep inland and Chakas had never seen an ocean, which rules out Mombasa. It's likely to be somewhere in Africa, though what Forerunners consider nearby could extend to a pretty wide radius.
