Talk:M6H magnum

Merge[edit]

Yeah, I noticed there was another M6H after I created the article. However the M6H PDWS was shown on Waypoint and from what I see, it was manufactured ad put into service after 2555, but this other M6H Handgun seems to have been made before 2555.-- KEEP IT CLEAN Comm Line Transmissions 16:26, 4 June 2012 (EDT)

  1. Support.svg Support — The 2555 date doesn't mean much. It didn't specify that the 6H was introduced, rather, it simply became the new standard. Grizzlei

List of appearances[edit]

It has been mentioned on ODST Field Guide page, which is in the sources for the article, but not in appearances. That isn't considered as canon? PatrickRus 19:29, 8 June 2012 (EDT)

It's canon, but only works in which an entity appears should be listed in a list of appearances. The ODST Field Guide, being a reference work, doesn't belong. --Courage never dies. 21:19, 8 June 2012 (EDT)

Need more images of M6H[edit]

Hey, I added the screenshot of the Insurrectionist holding the M6H in surrender, but I think the article's gallery section could use an image or two more, like maybe a screenshot of the CAMS cadets training with the M6H on the CAMS firing range. I will try to get around to taking the screenshot myself, (and pray it'll turn out okay and not all blurred), but I think it would probably be better if someone else did it who has the proper resources for getting a high-resolution screenshot. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 13:28, 26 October 2012 (EDT)Xamikaze330

UPDATE: Okay, I uploaded an image from H4 FUD that is as high-resolution as I can get it. If there is anyone who has the software to do any better, then by all means please do so. :-) --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 21:52, 27 October 2012 (EDT)Xamikaze330

Wait...What?[edit]

Hey, is it just me, or does the M6H look similar to the M6G? I mean, in some cases it seems like it looks almost exactly like the M6G, like for example, the screenshot I just uploaded of the CAMS Cadet on the firing range looks like he's wielding an M6G, not an M6H. I'm very certain it is the M6H. But then again, most of the M6-series magnum pistols were designed by the same manufacturer, and thus share similarities. Still, can't help but wonder if it was a graphical error (probably because it was a little blurred), or it may have been an oversight on the producer's part. I guess it doesn't really matter, does it? --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 22:01, 27 October 2012 (EDT)Xamikaze330

Halo 5 possibly not M6H[edit]

Is there anything that actually confirms the magnum shown in Halo 5 is the M6H? There are some clear aesthetic differences (including a black polymer finish) and it has a 12-round magazine instead of 8. The black finish and 12-round magazine make me feel like it could be a modified M6C, or a completely new variant altogether.--File:PENGUIN4.gif|15px]]FluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 11:17, 5 December 2014 (EST)

More generally, I have been skeptical of our use of Halo 4 designations for Halo 5's weapons. They might end up being entirely new weapons. Perhaps they are not "finished" yet. Weapons have always had new designations in each new game, so I doubt 343i is willing to keep the ones from Halo 4. And as far as I know, no name has ever been given for the new weapons, we're just supposing that they're the same because they look "similar". Imrane-117 (talk) 11:41, 5 December 2014 (EST)
Exactly. However, I think it's safe to say that some of them are the same variant since they look exactly the same but with a different color scheme and/or a different sight. For instance, the DMR, AR, BR, and Sniper Rifle are identical to their previous iterations aside from different color schemes, and the only major difference in the BR is its sight, which would obviously just be a different attachment and not something that would require an entirely new variant. However the Magnum and SMG seem like entirely different variants. Especially the SMG, which now has a top-loaded magazine and ejects shell casings — something that would scream "entirely different weapon" had it not shared the same basic side profile as the M7, and will likely just be called a different M7 variant.--File:PENGUIN4.gif|15px]]FluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 11:59, 5 December 2014 (EST)

Firing Mechanism[edit]

Although it appears to have a gas piston in it, the M6H2 is said to be recoil operated in Issue 47 of Canon Fodder.—This unsigned comment was made by SpartanMish (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Indeed it does, thanks for that. The mistake has been rectified. -- Topal the Pilot Blueteam.png (Talk|Contribs) 20:08, 19 August 2016 (EDT)

Seperate Pages[edit]

Seeing the vast amount of differences between the M6H and M6H2, I would suggest seperating them into two pages.SpartanMish (talk) 20:09, 18 September 2016 (EDT)

Range[edit]

The M6H had a range of 250 meters? I checked the Nighfall "Quarter Master" and it doesnt seems to say anything about it. Especially when other magnums had like 50m range. Not even the other post-war weapon had such a improvement. Or have I missed anything important? —This unsigned comment was made by 83.251.193.165 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
