40mm Chaingun in Homecoming?[edit]
Here are the images of the unidentified Pelican chaingun from Halo Legends: Homecoming. I so far have obviously determined that this weapon clearly is not the M370 autocannon from Halo: Reach. As far as I know, this weapon has been mounted on Pelican Dropships ever since 2517, up until it was replaced by the M370 autocannon in 2525. So far that's all the information I've managed to gather up regarding what this weapon might be, and as such, I have concluded that this must be the outdated 40mm chain gun. If anybody agrees or disagrees, then by all means please say so. Once this is done, and it is widely agreed and believed that this is the 40mm chaingun, I shall put it in the article. --Xamikaze330 19:44, 4 December 2011 (EST)Xamikaze330
- Since nobody has written any objections, much less anything at all, then shall I place them in the article's gallery section, or not? Please can somebody say something? These images need a home! --Xamikaze330 15:13, 9 August 2012 (EDT)Xamikaze330
- The scene of the Pelican in Homecoming takes place in 2531. This weapon was replaced by the 70mm autocannon by 2525. So... yeah... It is unlikely that the weapon in the images are the 40mm guns.— subtank 20:33, 9 August 2012 (EDT)
- Oh, well, in that case, they can be removed, as they already have been. I guess I should have thought about it more thoroughly. The only questions remaining is, what are these unknown chainguns on the Pelican in Origins, and when were these originally fielded? And also in what article do they belong in? --Xamikaze330 21:04, 9 August 2012 (EDT)Xamikaze330
- I'm not sure what you're talking about. — subtank 21:16, 9 August 2012 (EDT)
- I corrected my above statement to say "removed" rather than "replaced", like it said earlier. But in answer to your question, I think you do know what I'm talking about. These images! What are they of, when were they fielded, and lastly, where should they be put in? What are they of, if not 40mm chain guns? I honestly could have sworn they were the 40mm chainguns mentioned in Halo: The Fall of Reach. The one thing not mentioned is not the exact date when they were fielded. And one other thing: I noticed something that looks a little bit like a temporal paradox of some sort, that the scene in which the Pelican is shown in Homecoming is in 2531, yet the 40mm chaingun was replaced by the 70mm M370 autocannon in 2525, which happened prior to 2531. Isn't it the other way around? I'm really confused about this, this past-future mix-up. How can something from the past replace something in the future? I thought it was the other way around. Somebody made an error when checking or simply making up times. This article needs some serious work. --Xamikaze330 21:33, 9 August 2012 (EDT)Xamikaze330

(reset indent) Those are from Homecoming, not Origins. And, as per 70mm article, the 40mm was common prior to 2525, not the way around. The wording is a bit "iffy". I'll leave the editing to whoever up for it.— subtank 21:39, 9 August 2012 (EDT)
- Sorry, I meant to say Homecoming, not Origins. I hope someone who knows a little more can help fix this. It is certainly very confusing. --Xamikaze330 21:46, 9 August 2012 (EDT)Xamikaze330
