He served in the [[Ministry of Fervent Intercession]]'s [[Fleet of Valiant Prudence]] as the commander of the [[Devoted Sentries]], a chapter of [[Sangheili Zealot|Zealots]] under Supreme Commander [[Rho 'Barutamee]]'s oversight. 'Ahtalee led the Devoted Sentries throughout the [[Fall of Reach]], before being killed by [[SPARTAN-B312|Noble Six]] during the [[Battle of Asźod]] on August 30, 2552.{{Ref/Reuse|POA}}

Orsu was one of the Zealots of the Fleet of Valiant Prudence elevated by Supreme Commander 'Barutamee to the Devoted Sentries. When the fleet began its attack on the [[human]] colony world of [[Reach]] in [[2552#July|July 2552]], he led the Devoted Sentries deployment to the [[Visegrád Relay]]. The attack took place on July 23, causing the relay to go down and prompting a response by a force of the [[UNSC Army]]'s [[Special Warfare Group Three]]. When the troopers were also killed by the Covenant forces, they were followed up by a [[SPARTAN-III program|SPARTAN-III]] team, [[NOBLE Team|Noble Team]]. Noble Team ultimately cleared the Visegrád facility, where they came directly into contact with the Devoted Sentries while assisting one of the [[Sára Sorvad|attack's survivors]]. Orsu and two Zealots ambushed Noble Team inside the outpost, though were ultimately driven back by Noble's gunfire. He managed to escape, while the two zealots were killed during the confrontation.{{Ref/Level|HR|Winter Contingency}}

After this encounter, Orsu continously engaged with Noble Team throughout the rest of the Reach campaign. On August 23, he was present at the [[Siege of New Alexandria]], where he was able to kill [[Catherine-B320]] by [[Sniper|sniping]] her with a {{Pattern|Gadulo|needle rifle}}.{{Ref/Level|HR|New Alexandria}} On August 30, he once again deployed alongside the Devoted Sentries to the [[Asźod ship breaking yards]], where he fought against the surviving remnants of Noble Team. Orsu Lar 'Ahtalee is a Field Marshal encountered multiple times throughout the [[campaign]] of ''[[Halo: Reach]]'', going unnamed in the story itself. He appears in the end cutscenes for the levels [[Winter Contingency]] and [[New Alexandria]], responsible for killing Kat-B320 from a hovering [[Phantom]] in the latter. He is only encountered in gameplay at the end of the level [[The Pillar of Autumn (Halo: Reach level)|The Pillar of Autumn]], where he defends the [[Mark 2488 Onager|Onager turret]] alongside his Zealot brethren. 'Ahtalee is notable as is he is the only enemy in the game who swaps between weapons: if the player depletes his [[energy shielding]], he discards his fuel rod gun and equips an energy sword.
