Creatures aboard Argent Moon

There were four creatures aboard the Office of Naval Intelligence research facility Argent Moon, resting in the laboratory's tanks.^[1] The creatures were the highly mutated and misshapen bodies of asteroidea merozoite victims with a hereditary cellular condition known as delta-beta thalassemia. Rather than dying shortly after infection like most victims, humans with this exceedingly rare genetic disorder would instead suffer grotesque skin over-growth and bone malformation, gradually transforming into something no longer recognizable as human.^[2]^[3]

The creatures were destroyed with the facility in October 2558 when Blue Team boarded the station and self-destructed it.^[1]

And, since the Barugi Incident occurred fifteen years before 2553 (so, 2538), it's a bit of a stretch to say they were the same victims Blue Team found in 2558. Of course, Retribution text doesn't explicitlysay they died, so a case could be made that they're same. I don't think that's what I was thinking, though -- at best, I may havewanted to leave the possibility open. But GOOD catch -- I was wondering how long it would take someone to make that connection!"
