When the Marines split up in order to enact the [[United Nations Space Command Emergency Priority Order 098831A-1|Cole Protocol]], Clarence was assigned to [[Hospital Corpsman|Corpsman]] [[Ngoc Benti|Benti]]'s group, alongside [[Gersten]], [[Orlav]] and [[Tsardikos]]. As Lopez and [[James MacCraw|MacCraw]] trained their rifles on Clarence, Corpsman Benti forced Clarence into a mob of Flood, becoming assimilated into the Flood.
