Possible Cadet? and the Chief's armor

Does anybody else think the "cadet" could be Andrew Del Rio? Also the promotional image for the series show what appears to be the Chief's armor from The Package. Anybody agree? --ADinoSupremacist 13:48, 30 April 2012 (EDT)

That was my first thought considering he's the commanding officer of the Infinity and as such, would play the largest role in Halo 4 when it appears. As for the armor, Frankie stated on HBO that it's an older model like the one seen in The Package. Anyhoo, tits are not calm for Forward Unto Dawn. I can't wait! :) Grizzlei
I have no idea what you just posted "tits" --ADinoSupremacist 14:13, 30 April 2012 (EDT)
There's also the distinct possibility that cadet in question isn't the future CO of the Infinity, but rather the leader of Majestic Squad, which would tie the Chief to the Spartan Ops component of the multiplayer portion of the game. This possibility also makes a lot of sense from the standpoint that they are both player-controlled characters... DJenser 14:54, 31 May 2012 (EDT)
Well, we now know that the cadet is one Thomas Lasky, who apparently graduated from the Corbulo Academy. It's an officer training facility, so he won't be a grunt or even a noncom by the time he gets to the Infinity. Based upon what was said in the BTS video, he plays a big part in H4... My guess is that he's taking the place of Sgt Johnson... I'm wondering if he's going to be an S4... It would make sense, given that he's a seasoned vet, having survived many years of the worst part of the War since his days at the academy (based upon the chief's Mk IV armor, it puts the date between 2535 and 2551).DJenser 13:05, 12 July 2012 (EDT)
So, now we know that the film takes place sometime after 2522 ("about 30 years before Halo CE"), and we can safely put it sometime after 2525, which was when the Mjolnir Armor first entered limited production to aid the Spartan II units in the UNSC's "police actions" against a growing insurrection. Given that the Chief was only 14 at that time & currently assigned to capture an Insurrectionist leader at Eridanus Secundus (not to mention that he wasn't wearing the armor during that mission), I'm reasonably certain that the date of the film will be 2528 or '29, at which point John would be just about fully grown at 17 or 18 & thus able to utilize the new armor most effectively. On a somewhat unrelated note, I'd have to guess that Lasky somehow manages to overcome his adverse reaction to cryosleep, otherwise he'd be looking pretty decrepit by 2557 when he serves aboard the Infinity... Assuming of course, that he's not the XO or in some other command position... However, the way they're building him up in the clips so far, suggests that he's still a front-liner rather than some kind of REMF. Johnson & the Chief had augmentations to keep them going & there's no indication that Lasky has had any at this point, so unless his aging process has been slowed by cryosleep, he'd be pushing 50 by that point & pretty close to past his prime. Well, that'll likely prove not to be the case, but we'll have to wait & see. DJenser 11:41, 13 July 2012 (EDT)
Well seeing as how the S-II were described as being the physical maturity equivalent to an eighteen-y/o Master Chief would technically be an adult by the time of FuD, you can hear it in his voice. It's not too far-fetched to presume Spartans reach physical and mental maturity at a much earlier age (somewhere between 13-16 years for males) as opposed to an average human, given with what Halsey said about them prior to their final augmentations at age 14. --Kluutak 16:15, 2 August 2012 (EDT)

On Lasky's page it states he was in the cams in the year 2529, would seem more believable since his birth was in 2512 making him 17 at the time of the attack on Circinius IV SPARTAN-225 06:23, 29 October 2012 (EDT)

No, that's not what it says. It says his graduating class at Corbulo was the Class of 2529. When we see him there in 2526 (as has been stated when Forward Unto Dawn takes place), he is a Freshman.--Spartacus TalkContribs 09:50, 29 October 2012 (EDT)
Which will make him 14 at the time, the cast of this mini series looks a bit older than 14 don't ya think SPARTAN-225 00:51, 31 October 2012 (EDT)

First Appearance for Infinity?

So it's been revealed the cadet will become a leader of the Infinity. IF the Infinity is in the web series, does that count as the Infinity's first appearance with Halo 4 being the second? --ADinoSupremacist 14:17, 30 April 2012 (EDT)

If the Infinity is shown, then yes.--Gravemind.svg Col. Spartacus Talk Page Contributions 14:40, 30 April 2012 (EDT)

As for its inclusion on this page's appearance section, we'll just leave it as a "mentioned only" entry until we get more details. Grizzlei

Weapons

I'm assuming the MA2B is refering to to one on that poster at SFU? Looks like it. The rifle that the statue is holding is the new MA5D, and the pistol John is holding is some sort of M6 variant, as can be seen by the rear of the slide. Note the serrations and the loaded chamber indicator. Alex T Snow 22:52, 4 June 2012 (EDT)

Dimah

Her last name is in one of the pictures, on her uniform, though I can't quite make it out. Alex T Snow 14:43, 11 July 2012 (EDT)

The name on her uniform is "Tchakova".DJenser 13:06, 12 July 2012 (EDT)

Hyperion-class what?

While Chyler Silva was reading updates on the Insurrection the second article mentioned warheads, I could only read "Hyperion-clas...warheads" her head was blocking what kind of warhead, I'm guessing nuclear warheads would be the target for Insurrectionist spies, but I couldn't tell. If anyone could find out what kind of warhead, that would be helpful. File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 12:07, 5 October 2012 (EDT)

Given the context, I agree that it must have said "Hyperion-class nuclear warheads". Maybe the extended cut that comes with the Halo 4 Limited Edition will show the full news stories. --Courage never dies. 12:15, 5 October 2012 (EDT)
The weekly bulletin on Waypoint mentions that the Forward Unto Dawn is equipped with an "M4093 Hyperion Nuclear Delivery System", these could be the warheads that they were stealing. File:Colonel Grade One.pngCol. Snipes450File:Colonel Grade One.png 14:32, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

Instead of creating separate, individual pages of the webisodes, it is far better to put it in one page. So, go transcribe. :) — subtank 23:17, 5 October 2012 (EDT)

Worth noting?

Is it worth noting that the armour used by Fred and Kelly is the same armour (though modified) used for Deliver Hope? Fred's received very little modification and Kelly had the helmet altered, though you can still tell that it's Kat's.--Soul reaper 09:58, 2 November 2012 (EDT)

It is. You can add it under a new subsection titled "Behind the scenes" under the Production section. You should also add that the same Warthog used in Halo: Landfall is used in this film.— subtank 10:09, 2 November 2012 (EDT)

DVD to be sold separately

Hey, I just found out on Amazon.com that the 90-minute Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn extended edition DVD will be sold separately apart from the Halo 4 Limited Edition on Amazon, and will be released on December 4, 2012, though to be honest I wish it was much sooner, so I can get mine right now. I did however use an application called Youtube Video Grabber to download it off Youtube so I can watch it in my iTunes and on my iPod touch. But that's beside the point. What I'm trying to say is this: is this worth noting somewhere in the article, like maybe in the introduction? Because I think it is, and also I'm glad it will be available individually, without having to go out of my way and buy the Halo 4 Limited Edition just to get the DVD, not that it matters since I still don't have an Xbox 360 of my own, and even if I did, the damn thing costs roughly $100, something I can't afford on my current paycheck, unless I decide to save up, which is difficult considering the number of financial issues I won't bother naming I still have to iron out somehow, bit by bit. But back to my current point. Should we include this information? Objections or concerns or whatever? I'll do it if nobody has any objections, or unless someone else beats me to it. Also, any additional information regarding this subject of DVD release is also welcomed. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 13:08, 24 November 2012 (EST)Xamikaze330

I don't see why not. :) Limited doesn't actually come with a DVD by the way, it comes with a code that allows you to watch it on Waypoint. Alex T Snow 18:26, 24 November 2012 (EST)
Actually, someone else has already beat me to the punch way before I brought this up. According to Halo Waypoint, this was already being planned. To which I'm very glad to know, because I WANT IT! --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 22:06, 24 November 2012 (EST)Xamikaze330
I see someone has also added some more information regarding this topic. In any case, I just pre-ordered the DVD via Amazon Prime and I expect it to come either on Tuesday or Wednesday, if there are any slight delays during shipping. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 19:22, 1 December 2012 (EST)Xamikaze330

More BTS stuff

At about 1 hour in, this RT podcast has some Behind the Scenes stuff, including information about things like the mirrored wall in the forest. I'm not great with the referencing so I'll leave it to others to add it to the page.--210.56.91.135 07:19, 30 November 2012 (EST)

Regarding appearance of Halo 4 era weapons, armor, etc

Has there been any statement regarding the fact that halo 4 era stuff is present in this? As of now, we are handling it be saying that all of that stuff was present at the time this took place, but I'd be willing to bet a lot that this wasn't intentional, and this was simply the case because they used the halo 4 assets as a reference for the things that appeared in FuD.

Are we going to say that the Forward unto Dawn contained the BR85 and such simply because 343i didn't have all the UNSC stuff in their halo 3 incarnation during the first halo 4 level? (though I admit this is far more canonically reasonable than them existing during the 2520's)

This echos the prologue in halo 4, which shows all the thins in their halo 4 incarnation as well. These (including MC's armor in 4, as stated many times by 343 before a single comment regarding nanobots was made) are meant to be visual retcons, not canonical ones. signxb.jpg 14:52, 23 December 2012 (EST)
